March 29 (Sat.) 2:00 pm. TEA TASTING PROGRAM. Program devoted soley to fine tea, includes a talk and a tasting of selected loose teas. At each event 3 different teas will be highlighted and featured (either a white tea, a green tea, an Oolong tea, a black tea or a scented tea) followed by a dessert created especially for the program by the Sundial's pastry chef. Plan an informative afternoon with professional garden designer and herbalist Ragna Tischler-Goddard. Advice on layout and plantings with culinary, medicinal and decorative herbs. Program includes slides and illustrations and lasts about 1-1/2 hours. Tea and refreshments served. Registration: $40 per person. To register click here. Nov. 15 (Sat.) 12:30 pm to 4 pm BAKING FOR THE HOLIDAYS Our pastry chef will guide you in this step-by step baking session, sponsored by Middletown Adult Education. November 1 CHRISTMAS SHOP OPENS. The shop will be open the first three weekends in November from 10 to 5. The Shop will be open the Friday after Thanksgiving Day from 10-5 and aso on Saturday and Sunday of the Thanksgiving weekend. After that the hours will be: OPEN Wednesday-to-Sunday from 10 to 5 through Christmas Eve. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays (However, the Shop will be open Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 22-23 from 10-5. On Wednesday Dec 24, Christmas Eve, from 10 to 3 pm). Many holiday treats from Europe, including Stollen, Baumkuchen, Lebkuchen, etc from Germany; Jellies and Confitures from France; Chocolate from Belgium, Exclusive Balsamic specialties from Italy, and much more for holiday giving and celebrating! (our online Christmas Catalogue will be ready for viewing or orders in October 2008) November 30 (Sunday) 12noon to 5 pm. CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE here at The Sundial. Join us for a tasting of traditional European holiday treats. Enjoy a cup of hot mulled cider and enter to win a shop gift certificate. This is a free event. No registration required. Dec. 6 (Saturday) 1:30 pm CHOCOLATE PROGRAM (Holiday version) Learn to make rich, dark chocolate truffles, exotic chocolate tartlets, and other chocolate treats for the holidays. Recipes and tips included in this step-by step demonstration, plus you get to sample everything created in the program! The class will last about 1-1/2 hours. Reservations necessary.
