SNOW DRAGON . . . a high-mountain tea grown in a pollution-free environment in the Zhejian Province of China. The silvery-green budsets with their velvety appearance are picked in early spring. Carefully wok-fired and flattened by hand during the drying process, the tea leaves take on their final shape. This is a gentle green tea similar in character to a white tea, with a delicate sweet flavor and subtle toasted notes.
RIVER & CLOUD GREEN NEEDLES from Jiangxi Province, China. . . a high-elevation tea picked in early spring from teagardens situated on terraced mountain slopes where small streams and heavy mist provide ideal growing conditions. The slender, well-shaped leaves and silver leaf-buds indicate careful hand processing. This tea has a smooth mouth feel, a refreshing note, and a complex aroma extending into a sweet nutty finish.
ANJI WHITE MOUNTAIN MIST . . . this is a GREEN TEA from the northern slope of Mt. Tianmu. When steeped the leaves take on an almost white, jade-like transparency marked by a distinct darker central vein. From a relatively new Camellia stain, this spring harvest displays all the qualities of a historic Tribute tea. The exceptional taste profile is due in part to careful plucking and repeated hand sorting. (Each pound consists of approximately 30.000 budsets!). Refeshing and smooth with a rich mouthfeel and lingering pleaant aftertaste, this tea will yield a second infusion.
TIANMU QING DING . . .A high elevation cloud and mist tea from China's Zhejiang Province. With dark green slender leaves and budsets, this special tea is totally hand-processed. When brewed, the pale yellow infusion offers a fine well developed taste profile. . . sweet and refreshing due to a supportive terroir (location and growing conditions).
JADE SPIRAL TIPS . . .from Taiwan, sometimes compared to China Pi Lo Chun as a quality endorsement by the tea Trade. However, this exceptional green tea does not need any additional stamp of approval! Made from one of the high mountain cultivars usually reserved for Oolong, this tea displays small, wiry slightly twisted green leaves, and produces a golden liquor with a rich, velvety taste profile not often found in green tea.
Classic HUANG SHAN MAO FENG. . . one of China's most celebrated cloud & mist teas from Anhui Province, totally hand processed. Huang Shan or Yellow Mountain, a famous sight in China, describes the location of the tea garden, and mao feng describes the leaf style–two slender equal sized leaves and one leafbud. This tea, taken as a warm drink provides an all ecompassing gentle taste profile and, when slightly cooler, sweet notes become more evident. |

NEW PINHEAD GUNPOWDER , A Wuyuan Classic, with tiny handrolled pellet-shaped leaves...one of the earliest China export teas to reach Europe. It is said that a clerk in an English teashop compared the small nuggets to "gunpowder" as they tumbled noisily into a teaot and unfurled suddenly when hot water was added! The tightly rolled leaves keep their freshness even when stored for long periods. With a robust nutty flavor this tea may be served as is or with fresh mint—Moroccan style.
